What we treat

Manchester SLT are a team of specialist therapists that provide assessment and treatment of a range of speech and language problems. The specialist speech and language therapists at Manchester SLT commonly treat individuals with the following speech and language problems:

Adults

Neurological problems (stroke, head injury, MND, parkinson’s disease, MS, dementia)
Learning difficulties (cerebral palsy, down’s syndrome, autistic spectrum disorder)
Speech disorders (stuttering, lisp, voice problems)
Eating, drinking and swallowing (problems swallowing liquids or foods)
Voice disorders (hoarse voice, low voice, disorders associated with laryngeal problems)

Children

Neurological (head injury, stroke)
Eating, drinking and swallowing (feeding difficulties, problems swallowing solid foods and liquids)
Language delay and impairment (slow development of typical development of language, language deviated from normal sequence of development)
Speech delay (delayed development of speech sounds)
Speech disorder (development deviated from typical development)
Learning difficulties (autistic spectrum disorder, down’s syndrome)
